Increasing popularity of the area as a place of residence or recreation has resulted in an increase in traffic along the streets in the neighbourhood. Deteriorating roads and verges add to the problem.
A joint initiative between various organisations and individuals has resulted in the implementation of speed bumps along Village Lane, Avondrust Circle and Beach Road. Over R130,000 was raised by the community to fund this project.

I have noticed a HUGE reduction in speed on both Avondrust and Beach Roads since the speed humps were introduced. Also a decrease in noise.
